The use of TOTERS in Fremont began on July 1st.
Go to the Recycling Page for more information. We have exhausted the second delivery of recycle bins, and hope to have some in a few weeks. Call and leave your name and number with the Selectmen's Office at 895 2226 x 11, and we can call you when the new shipment arrives.

The Town was notified, informally, that the owner of the Brentwood Dam has received State approval to open his gates for emergency repairs. This is posted as information only, and is under no authority of the Town of Fremont NH. The Town has been informed that the Scribner Road Dam is being kept open pending repairs, and to allow for expansion of rains, and to avoid further flooding.
NOTICE FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
There have been residential burglaries in Fremont. Be vigilant and watch out for your home and your neighbors. Please call the Fremont Police Department by dialing 911 or 679 2225 to report any suspicious activity.
Stop&Shop Gives A+BonusBucks
A thank you goes out to the 22 members of our Fremont community who supported the Ellis School and Fremont PTA through the 2007-08 A+BonusBucks Program associated with NH & MA Stop&Shop grocery stores from 10/05/2007 through 04/03/2008. Because of your support of this program (by designating your Stop&Shop swipe card for Ellis School id #05256), we were able to raise $353.47 for future PTA sponsored programs. Information for next year's Stop&Shop A+BonusBucks program will be announced by October 2008 - and a reminder for this Fall that you must re-designate your swipe card for Ellis School id # 05256 to continue to support this program next year.
Ellis School - NE School DevelopmentCouncil Long-Range School Facilities Plan DRAFT
The Long Range Facilities Planning Committee is looking at the options available to help alleviate the overcrowding issues at Ellis School. The Committee is made up of representatives from both the Fremont School District and the community. BUDGET COMMITTEE VACANCY
There is a vacant seat on the Fremont Budget Committee due to Chairman Kimball’s receipt of a resignation from Keith Stanton. Anyone interested in serving on the Fremont Budget Committee for the balance of the year (until the March 2009 election, at which time a two year seat will be open) should contact the Budget Committee through the Selectmen’s Office at 895 2226. The Committee meets next at 7:00 pm on Wednesday August 13, 2008.
You can submit a letter of interest to the Budget Committee, mailed care of the Fremont Town Hall, PO Box 120, Fremont NH 03044-0120 for their consideration. Please indicate your interest and pertinent background information that make you a good candidate for the position.
THE OPEN SPACE COMMITTEE NEEDS YOU!
The Fremont Open Space Committee is a group of people who work together toward preserving the natural resources, wildlife habitat, open spaces and rural character of our town. Over the past few years, the Committee has actively worked to acquire the Glen Oakes Conservation Area, and is trying to promote public awareness of the importance of preserving open space. We are looking for new people to come and see what our committee is about and to encourage you to offer your ideas, talents or knowledge. We have many upcoming projects that are in need of volunteers, such as monitoring programs for town forests, wildlife/bird/plant inventories; committee walks, showshoeing or cross country skiing, wildlife viewing, and more. If any of these things interest you, we would like to hear from you. ERLAC LOOKING FOR MEMBERS FROM FREMONT
The Exeter River Local Advisory Committee (ERLAC) is looking for two additional residents from Fremont to serve on the Committee, which meets monthly in Brentwood. ERLAC is actively involved with protecting water quality, water quantity and wildlife habitat in the Exeter River watershed. ERLAC also provides education outreach through presentations open to the public, a spring vernal pool workshop and the Alewife Festival. If you are interested in joining an active group of volunteers and interested in learning more about the River, please contact Theresa Walker of the Rockingham Planning Commission at 778-0885. TRUSTEE OF TRUST FUNDS POSITION OPEN
There is currently a vacancy for Trustee of Trust Funds for a three year term through March 2011. The Trustees are basically volunteers (a small annual stipend is paid out at year end), and the Trustees are generally responsible for management, investment and reporting of the Town’s trust funds, which are for general town purposes (libraries, schools); capital reserve funds, town trust funds, and cemetery perpetual care funds.
A general information piece (compiled from current statutes) is available on the Town’s website (home page under volunteer position openings) and a printed copy is available from the Selectmen’s Office at the Town Hall.
Anyone interested in this position can contact Pat Martel by email at martel4@comcast.net or call Heidi at the Town Offices at 895 2226 x 10 to get additional information. Pat will return a phone call to you if you leave your phone number in the email, or leave information with Heidi or Jeanne in the Selectmen’s Office.
If you decide you are interested in the position, please submit a letter of interest, highlighting any pertinent background you have to make you an asset to the position, including any financial background experience. Submit a letter of interest to the Board of Selectmen, PO Box 120, Fremont NH 03044-0120. The position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
