TRASH & RECYCLING

Waste Management TOTER Information and Delivery / Recycling Information Flyer # 2

Waste Management TOTER Informational Flyer # 1

  The TOTER sy
stem was implemented on July 1, 2008.  Each household receives one 64 gallon cart in which all of your trash must be placed.

The week of July 1 you will need to begin using the cart.  TRASH LEFT IN ANY OTHER CONTAINER OR BAG WILL NOT BE COLLECTED.

If you need an additional recycling bin, please come by the Town Hall during open hours to pick one up.   You can also use a plastic tote, laundry bin, or other container for recyclables.

All items should be bagged inside the cart to avoid blowing and spreading trash.

One of the goals of the cart system is to encourage more recycling, so pick up another copy of the recycling information, download it form the website, or call the Selectmen’s Office and we will mail you one.

As of July 1, the Wednesday collection route HAS CHANGED TO FRIDAY.

We do anticipate that there will be some time during the transition when questions will come up, and encourage you to call the Customer Service center at Waste Management at 800 847 5303 for any questions.

Please watch your mail carefully for information from Waste Management, and check this site for updates.

Thank you very much for your patience and cooperation as we work through these changes.

 BULKY DAY

Spring Bulky Day was very successful on Saturday May 17, 2008.

Thank you to the many volunteers who made the day go smoothly!

Trash collection is delayed for six major annual holidays, including:

New Years Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day

Labor Day - Week of September 1, 2008
Thursday collection will be Friday 9/5
Friday collection will be Saturday 9/6

Thanksgiving
Christmas Day

We post reminders here when trash is delayed or if we learn of particular trash pickup problems on a day to day basis.

AMERICA
RECYCLES DAY

America Recycles Day is held annually on November 15th.   This is a nationwide event
whose purpose is to encourage Americans to step up their recycling efforts and buy
recycled content products.  We should practice recycling every day!

To learn more, visit www.americarecyclesday.org.  Recycling is good for the environment and for the protection and preservation of our natural resources.

RECYCLING REMINDER

Remember to put your trash and your recycling out every week.  Saving either up for any period of time affects the collection and the route.  Please do both, every week!

Fremont holds bulky drop-off days twice per year.

We always need volunteers!  To express interest or get your name on our Bulky Day volunteer list, send an email to Heidi at FremontTA@comcast.net.

IF YOU MISS BULKY DAY:

If you miss Bulky Day, there is a transfer station owned by the Town of Raymond and operated by Bestway Disposal on Prescott Road in Raymond.  This facility takes bulky items (most for a fee).  They are open Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and can be reached at 895-6273.
